Synopsis:

This exciting production of Mozart’s most spectacular opera follows a young officer’s quest to find the beautiful Pamina in war-ravaged, 1940s London. One of Mozart’s best-loved and spectacular operas, The Magic Flute contains some of the composer’s most beautiful and dramatic music, including the infamous and breathtakingly high ‘Queen of the Night Aria’.

The Production:

Teeming with magic and witty charm, the opera is perfect for both seasoned opera-lovers and opera-virgins alike. DOE’s The Magic Flute is performed by Durham’s most exciting up-and-coming musicians with full orchestra in Durham Castle’s magnificent medieval Great Hall; this is one of Durham’s largest productions, and not one to miss.
