This exciting production of Mozart’s most spectacular opera follows a young officer’s quest to find the beautiful Pamina in war-ravaged, 1940s London. One of Mozart’s best-loved and spectacular operas, The Magic Flute contains some of the composer’s most beautiful and dramatic music, including the infamous and breathtakingly high ‘Queen of the Night Aria’.
Teeming with magic and witty charm, the opera is perfect for both seasoned opera-lovers and opera-virgins alike. DOE’s The Magic Flute is performed by Durham’s most exciting up-and-coming musicians with full orchestra in Durham Castle’s magnificent medieval Great Hall; this is one of Durham’s largest productions, and not one to miss.
